The series of 54 Macbeth drawings by Paul van der Eerden, which were shown in 2011 for the first time in A.VE.NU.DE.JET.TE INSTITUT DE CARTON as first exhibition, are now exhibited in Galerie Bernard Jordan in Paris.

The first exhibition in A.VE.NU.DE.JET.TE INSTITUT DE CARTON was a series of 54 drawings after Macbeth by Paul van der Eerden. Every exhibition in A.VE.NU.DE.JET.TE INSTITUT DE CARTON is going to be documented by a special dossier. The first dossier is ready now in an edition of 20. There are 5 exemplars "hors commerce". Les SECRETS de la MEMOIRE opened last Saturday, January 21 2012. We were with many to see the impact of the Paris Match blackout grid in the staircase of A.VE.NU.DE.JET.TE Institut de Carton. It is an eye opener to see Willem Oorebeek's lithography in such an unconventional way.

Een de hele ruimte omvattend grid is de meest opvallende verschijningsvorm in de installatie 'Les SECRETS de la MEMOIRE'. Toch is de verschijningsvorm maar een onderliggend aspect van het ruimtelijk gebaar, een camouflage eerder. Het grid lijkt de verwerking van een continue stroom van tot herinnering vermaalde actualiteit die over een tiental jaar verzameld is.

Emotie, euforie, tragiek, van LIEF en LEED kortom, al wat ons onderbewustzijn als stemming van het nu ervaart, is ondergebracht in een allesbeheersend optisch patroon van geneutraliseerde herinnering.

Dichter op de actualiteit kan dit gebaar van georganiseerd vergeten niet worden aangelegd.

A grid enclosing the entire space is probably the most striking manifestation in the installation “Les SECRETS de la MEMOIRE” (The SECRETS of MEMORY). However, the manifestation is just an underlying aspect of the spatial gesture, rather a camouflage. The grid seems to be the processing of a continuous flow of actuality - ground into memories - collected over a decade.

Emotion, euphoria, tragedy, in short UPS and DOWNS, everything our subconscious experiences as the mood of the present has been classified in a dominating optical pattern of neutralised memories.

Closer to actuality this gesture of organised oblivion cannot be applied.

Une trame englobant l’espace entier est la manifestation la plus remarquable dans l’installation “Les SECRETS de la MEMOIRE”. Pourtant la manifestation n’est qu’un aspect sous-jacent de la geste spatiale, plutôt un camouflage. La trame paraît être l’assimilation d’un flux continue d’actualités broyées en souvenirs, rassemblées durant une dizaine d’années.

Emotion, euphorie, tragédie, bref les JOIES et les PEINES, tout ce que notre subconscient ressent comme l’humeur du présent a été classifié dans un motif optique dominant de souvenirs neutralisés.

Plus près de l’actualité ce geste d’oubli organisé ne peut être appliqué.
